Contact is Max Ayrton & Alex Waterhouse, two British climbers with a wealth of route-setting and competition climbing experience between them.

They are both driven to create shapes that allow for imaginative sequences, classic blocs with enjoyable movements, and great moments whether in a competition environment or at the local climbing wall.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Contact manufacture fibreglass macros of the highest quality at their workshop in Sheffield, England.

They use wear testing and destructive testing during the development of each new range of shapes to guarantee the strength and durability of their products, and ensure the longest possible working life.

COLOURS

Contact offers a standard range of eight colours, and they can match to any standard RAL colour code.

Contact also offers three luminous colours. These luminous colours are not suitable for use outdoors or in direct sunlight.

CARE & HANDLING

We recommend cleaning your Contact macros with a cold water jet wash. The use of water that is too hot or the use of an acid-based hold cleaner could have a negative impact on their colour or texture.

Rough handling of your macros will limit their lifespan. Care should be taken to avoid dropping them, and to protect the texture from damage. They should be stored in a dry area, avoiding extreme temperatures, and out of direct sunlight.

The use of fluorescent coloured macros outdoors, or in direct sunlight will cause the colour to fade.

FIXATION & SAFETY

Contact macros should only be installed by a competent and experienced person.

All screw holes must be used in together with 5mm woodscrews of an appropriate length ensuring a minimum 20mm of penetration into the walls surface.

All screw holes are reinforced with a steel insert to increase the longevity of your macros.

Contact macros should only be used on a climbing surface that meets BS EN 12572-1 or BS EN 12572-2. They must not be installed on curved surfaces, and the entire macro must fit onto the surface of the wall.

If a macros shows signs of a crack in its structure, or if a fixation point is damaged in any way, the product must be discarded for safety purposes.
